My friend who’s part of TCA has seen the pilot episode of NBC’s new upcoming series DRACULA, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and let’s just say that my anticipation of the show isn’t so high anymore. She was turned off by the Dracula – Van Helsing team up in this show.

Dracula (Meyers) as he arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur named Allen Grayson, who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier. There’s only one circumstance that can potentially thwart his plan: Dracula falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife, that woman is a medical student named Mina Murray (de Gouw) who is engaged to Jonathan Harker.
Thomas Kretschmann’s character, Van Helsing, is more of a brilliant professor, cool on the outside, obsessed with revenge and he’s more of a threat to the public than to Dracula.
Victoria Smurfit plays Lady Jayne
Also starring Katie McGrath who plays Mina’s best friend and Nonso Anozie who plays Allan Grayson/Dracula’s loyal confidante.
DRACULA Premieres Friday, October 25th at 10/9c on NBC
